In July 2020, three statues of Columbus in Chicago were taken …

Two public statues of Christopher Columbus were removed in secrecy overnight by order of the Mayor of Chicago on July 24th, 2020. A  third statue was noticed missing on July 31st.

None have been returned.

Imagine the statues were people: they were arrested without charges and imprisoned without a public trial. This seems very unfair.

Many Italian-American leaders who view Columbus as a cultural icon, feel the statues should be restored to the community.
